Fairchild Semi needed their web site to reflect the brand power that they had established after decades in the semi-conductor business. Throughout this project, I served as the lead creative and worked with the project management team, developers, business analysts and quality assurance team to deliver a stellar user experience.
Fairchild Semi produces thousands of electrical and semi-conductor components. Their users needed to find the product they needed and view the specs at a glance.
In addition to finding the right components, users needed a simplified shopping experience that managed both products that could be bought and samples that could be ordered.
The parametric search feature is an industry standard when it comes to finding the right electrical components. The existing parametric search was ineffective and poorly organized. The new version enabled users to quickly specify their filters, columns and other search criteria while maintaining the elegant experience of the rest of the site.
Before doing any design, I created wireframes. This site had thousands of pages.
We created wireframes for about 50 master pages to handle all the required layouts.
